Being an artist I look towards understanding the deeper meaning of colors, the emotions that are triggered by a particular color, colors also determine the personality of people. I realized very early in life that color is the very essence of life. I often hear my family talk at family socio events,” Aadee, oh! Since she was a small girl has been sketching, coloring and painting. ‘In fact my mother says that I’ve been drawing before I could talk or walk, ‘big deal’ u may say but to me it is the very essence of life, without which everything will appear blurred and bleak. Craving for color is obvious, we crave it, we seek it and we create it to make our surroundings more refreshing, rejuvenating and of course more colorful. No matter whether the color is black or white, green or grey each color has its character and significance to people.
Color can cast a powerful impact on the minds of people and can also influence their behavior to a large extent. Some colors have a soothing effect whereas others stimulate and energize or scare us or lift us up and motivate us.
As a student of design, I understand that colors bring out the emotions, personality and empathy to make or break the product’s design to be accepted, tolerated or rejected by its end user.
A famous trendy car design with bright colors was in fact a replica of design exuberating the effervescence of color from the beetle bug. Another famous high-end technology based product company changed its monochrome product line into a trend-defying array of colorful product lines.
Industries, large enterprises, markets way down to the corner shop, from our homes to food, clothing and everything around us establishes the value of life in color…Im reminded of a song by ‘one republic – life in color.’
